Thank you all, this is really wonderfully valuable feedback. I generally write in isolation and can't recall receiving this level of insight to one of my poems previously so this really is wonderfully meaningful. Retirement

The old man in the window seat is setting quietly to his routine, rolling the sleeves of his Oxford shirt and repositioning his table until the sun falls across his bared arms, then with just a smile he signals to the waitress to order his usual and waits, watching the quiet street after the morning...

I like the simple directness of the language here. I'm not entirely clear of the meaning but it feels like it may reward further with repeat readings.

Hello

Just a hello to all here. I've taken time to read the forum and it looks like a great a community. I've been writing poems for 10 years or so and had a chapbook published last year but I've been looking for a place to help sharpen up my work, hopefully that's here.
