TBC (68/101*)

TBC

Written worries, twisted lies,
Worries paralyse,
Complicate
Self-regard and -loathing . Alone,
Just Vauxhall & I

Sitting writing,
Room empty,
Observations 'pithy,'
Brief adulthood with grown limbs and shrunken clothes
Generates written worries, twisted lies,
Under- or over-long

Of time, age, truth, goodness and money
Of what could happen
Of what they could be thinking
Of how much she loves you
Of skin dry and peeling
[tab][/tab]Covering furniture in snow
[tab][/tab][tab][/tab]Leaving me pink and prancing in frozen compost.

Going back to the source: I firmly belief that talent is entirely down to practice ...

2006. So did you actually predate Malcolm Gladwell and his 10,000 hours?

Anyway, it's been a while, so I can't remember if there is a theme or a thread here, or just a series of unconnected poems. And I know nothing about either CBT or TBC. After a little googling, is there a Morrissey connection? I can certainly imagine him "pink and prancing in frozen compost", and the layout of this could easily be that of a song.

Not much to offer, I'm afraid, but perhaps I'll pique someone else's interest.

Cheers

David

See, this kind of poem could be put to good use, to counteract the rather drab and titchmarshish meanderings of late!

Alas, it's opaque to the point of a teenagers worn out sole...Please try harder. I know you can write brilliant stuff.

Can I just say what a great (new) adjective titchmarshish is?
