It's a date

Post by twoleftfeet » Fri May 10, 2013 12:09 pm

I had this idea for a silly poem that doesn't really go anywhere but can be extended ad nauseam.
No rules - but 3 lines looks about right.
Go on - you know you want to..

It's a date
++++++++++

....1
Meet me under the clock at Waterloo
I'll be carrying a bunch of roses
and wearing Wellingtons

....2
Be at the stage door, after the panto
Wear your Cinderella outfit
I'll be behind you
Instead of just sitting on the fence - why not stand in the middle of the road?

or it could be an old apricot,
but whatever it is,
it will be sweet.
We fray into the future, rarely wrought
Save in the tapestries of afterthought.

I'll meet you in soft furnishings.
I'll bring my bicycle pump.
We'll make whoopee.

Meet me on Rockall,
with a yellow flower,
so I'll know it's you.

Meet me at the car door.
If you open it wide
I'll slide on in.

Meet me at the backdoor
I'll be your backdoor man
your greatest fan.
I am not a number ... I am a FREE man!

Meet me at the moment
when the other dew drops
on the same old grass.
